This course explores the practical applications of the role and responsibilities of the Engineer to the Contract and the Engineer’s Representative under NZS 3910:2013 Conditions of Contract for building and civil engineering works.
Description
This course follows on from the NZS 3910:2013 introductory course, providing practical guidance in the administration of construction contracts from the perspective of the Engineer to the Contract. It covers issuing instructions and variations, decision-making, reviewing, approving, or rejecting work and claims, issuing certificates and involvement in disputes.
All industry participants who administer or use the NZS 3910 conditions of contract and work with the Engineer to the Contract will find this course relevant.
Learning outcomes
Delegates will gain an understanding of:
- the role of Engineer to the Contract and Engineer’s Representative
- issuing instructions and making decisions under the contract
- certifying progress payments and final payments
- determining the Contractor’s entitlement to and valuing of Variations
- time for completion, delays and extensions of time, certifying practical and final completion
- dealing with disputes and differences
