This one-day workshop is designed for engineers who are involved with the mechanical and structural seismic design of pressure equipment. The workshop will have an emphasis on mechanical items such as pressure equipment (including pipe work) covered by the Pressure Equipment (PECPR) Regulations.

This course explores the practical applications of the role and responsibilities of the Engineer to the Contract and the Engineer’s Representative under NZS 3910 Conditions of Contract for building and civil engineering works.

An introduction or refresher to NZS 3910 Conditions of Contract for building and civil engineering works. This course covers the structure of NZS 3910, procurement considerations, and explores the roles and responsibilities of the Engineer to the Contract, Engineer’s Representative, Principal and Contractor.

This course looks at factors attributing to the safe design, construction, use, maintenance and removal of temporary works. Useful to engineers and managers working in the construction sector, the course will cover New Zealand Law, industry good practice, procedural control, basic design theory, and awareness modules for each of the most common forms of temporary works. This live online course will introduce the general concepts for retention systems for basement construction (e.g. sheet piles, secant piles, diaphragm wall, lateral support systems, etc.). This course is a slightly reduced version of the face-to-face course ‘Basements & ground retention systems’.

The course will introduce the fundamental principles and some well-established methods of pile design and analysis of single piles and some of them can be applied without the use of complex computer software.
